Overview

Voice amplifiers can help to solve daily practical problems for those whose speech is difficult to hear due to reduced volume. Some users who benefit from voice amplification are those who have voice problems due to an organic or functional voice loss or due to illnesses such as Parkinson’s Disease, which symptomatically have reduced volume. Using a voice amplifier can lead to fewer frustrations, greater independence and social involvement. Toby Churchill Ltd offers a selection of voice amplifiers designed to give clear amplification to the quieter, softer-spoken user. Advantages of using a voice amplifier include:
- high specification - these amplifiers are designed to give excellent performance, and clear intelligible speech output
- easy to use - just switch on and speak, volume can be adjusted to meet the needs of the situation and the level of background noise
- lightweight - amplifiers often have to be carried around all day, so it is important they are light and comfortable to wear
- long Battery Life - the latest battery technology is used to provide long battery life
- low battery indicator - gives a warning when battery needs changing; important when amplifier is in constant use
- optional microphones - some models have a choice of microphones, allowing the microphone to be changed to suit the user's needs
Please note: all voice amplifiers require the microphone to be positioned within ½ - 1" of the side of the person's mouth in order that it picks up their speech. This is to avoid the microphone picking up the amplified speech, which would cause feedback. The choice of model and microphone will be influenced by the need for the microphone to be positioned near the person's mouth while in use.
