Mounting Systems

For the SL35, SL38 and SL85 we offer the option of having the Lightwriter and MiniPrinter mounted on a plastic base plate. This has a carrying handle and wheelchair mounting points.

This option is factory-fitted and can be either when the Lightwriter is ordered or retro-fitted at a later date.

This mounting system is suitable for all models of Lightwriter (except BigKeys), and the adVOCAte range; it attaches to a wide range of round, oval, square and rectangular tubing.

Fully adjustable to place the Lightwriter in the correct position in front of the user.

The mount can be rotated away from the user, and removed from the chair without any hand-screws, so it automatically repositions itself in the correct height and position each time it is rotated away or re-attached to the wheelchair.

The Quick Release option allows the Lightwiter to be removed easily from the MidiMount Wheelchair Mount, making it simple to transfer it to another mount, or to remove it for charging. It is fitted as standard on the Overbed Mount, and is available as an option on the MidiMount, Floorstand, and Tilt Plate.

The Quick Release mechanism aligns and engages automatically without the Lightwriter having to be orientated correctly. This is shown in a video (MPEG format, size: 3.7 MB)

The Floor Stand is a free-standing mounting system for people while sitting in an Easy Chair. It is compatible with the MidiMount Wheelchair Mount and allows the Lightwriter plus MidiMount 'L' Pole to be quickly removed from the wheelchair and transferred onto the free-standing Floor Stand. This allows the Lightwriter user to move between a wheelchair and an Easy Chair. With the Quick Release Mount only the Lightwiter is transferred, and the MidiMount 'L' Pole remains on the wheelchair.

This system is designed to support a communication aid for people who are lying in bed.

It makes an ideal system for patients in Intensive Care and other Care settings since it mounts the device above the bed in the optimum position for the patient while creating minimal obstruction to nursing staff.

It can be used with all models of keyboard and scanning Lightwriter (except BigKeys), and the adVOCAte range, and can be adapted to suit other communication aids.

The Tilt Plate is designed to provide improved physical access and/or viewing angles for users who experience difficulties using a Lightwriter on a tabletop or wheelchair tray.

It optimises the viewing angle of an SL85 scanning Lightwriter when used on a tabletop. The Tilt Plate presents the Lightwriter keyboard and displays at a much steeper angle than when placed on a flat surface.

Compatible with Lightwriter models SL5, SL35, SL38 & SL85.
