Language Options

Lightwriters use synthesised speech, which limits the range of languages available for speech output. Lightwriters are also available without speech and can be used in any language that uses the Roman alphabet.

We offer Acapela HQ, Acapela HD and DECtalk™ speech synthesisers. Lightwriters with DECtalk speech are limited to American English only, while Lightwriters with Acapela speech can have any of the languages listed below, and can have up to 5 languages internally.

The following language options are currently available:

American English, British English, French, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish (Castillian), Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish.
