My name is Patrick and I am in my early thirties. I have had Cerebral Palsy from birth, which means I am in a wheelchair and I have no speech as the result of it. I have been using my scanning Lightwriter now for 1 year. As I have no hand control for using a normal keyboard, I use my Lightwriter via two head switches through a scanning keyboard displayed on the Lightwriter. I find my Lightwriter invaluable for communicating my thoughts in educational and social situations.
I am studying BA Degree in Social Studies at University. I am doing it over a 7 year period, as it takes me so long to type up my essays etc. Afterwards, I would like to do an MA in Research.
