Abilia develops, manufactures and provides assistive technology in the areas of Communication, Cognition and Environment Control & Alarm. We have presence in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the UK and with the help of distributors; we export our products to more than 20 countries.
Abilia is a merger of the four companies Gewa, Falck Igel, Handitek and Toby Churchill. The merger has enabled us to strengthen our expertise across borders and increased our ability to develop innovative assistive products in close collaboration with users and people in the assistive technology field. The history and background that helped build Gewa, Falck Igel, Handitek and Toby Churchill is still present in Abilia!
Abilia also has a background of more than 40 years of committed experience in the industry. Our passionate workforce ranges from rehabilitation engineers and technicians to special education teachers, occupational therapists and speech therapists. We work closely with our users, Assistive Technology Service organisations and specialists from various fields.
The name Abilia stems from the word ‘ability’. By providing users with the opportunity to improve their own ability, we wish to give everyone, regardless of the nature of their disability, the chance to boost their own ability, independence and safety in their day-to-day lives.
